The Kansas City Chiefs' threepeat tour rolls through Atlanta this weekend when the two-time defending Super Bowl champions take on a rejuvenated Atlanta Falcons team on Sunday Night Football at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Kansas City is a -3.5 favorite in the latest Chiefs vs. Falcons odds. Meanwhile the over/under is 46.5.

Kansas City, which is trying to become the first team to win three straight Super Bowls, may be 2-0, but the Chiefs are arguably a toe and a foot away from being 0-2. In the season opener against the Ravens, an apparent tying touchdown by Batimore's Isaiah Likely on the final play of regulation was overturned after a video review showed Likely's toe landed out-of-bounds. Kansas City escaped with a 27-20 win. Then last week, the Chiefs were down 25-23 and faced fourth-and-16 from their own 35-yard line with just 48 seconds remaining when they were the beneficiaries of a pass interference penalty. The penalty extended the drive and helped set up Harrison Butker's game-winning 51-yard field goal as time expired.

Kansas City has won without receiving vintage play from Patrick Mahomes. The two-time NFL MVP is averaging just 221.0 passing yards per game this season and has as many interceptions as touchdown passes (three). Last week he threw for just 151 yards, the second fewest of his career as a starter.

In addition Travis Kelce, arguably the best tight end in NFL history, has just four catches for 39 yards through the first two games.

Mahomes, Kelce and the rest of the Chiefs passing game may need to take on a heavier load moving forward. Starting running back Isiah Pacheco was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday with a broken fibula, and coach Andy Reid said Pacheco could miss the rest of the season. Carson Steele, an undrafted free agent, and Samaje Perine are next in line to tote the rock this week.

Meanwhile the Falcons are riding high after rallying for a 22-21 victory over the Eagles on Monday night. In that game, Atlanta quarterback Kirk Cousins, who signed a $180 million contract with the Falcons in the offseason, drove the offense 70 yards in the final two minutes, culminating in a game-winning 7-yard touchdown pass to Drake London. The drive was Cousins' ninth game-winning drive since 2022, which is tied for the most in the league over that time.

The Falcons are getting solid production from running back Bijan Robinson. The second-year back from Texas is averaging 5.7 yards per touch this season, which is the third-most in the NFL (minimum 40 touches). He also is the first Atlanta running back with 100 scrimmage yards in each of his first two games of a season since Michael Turner in 2011.
